There are two types of options that we may discuss on the board. One is a call or put option on a stock, stock index, PM or whatever. You are correct in saying SGR does not have an option of this type. The option that some refer to that can be shorted is a purchase option that is granted to an employee or insider in lieu of salary. These options often will lead to the insider shorting the stock before converting the option. Most insiders do not have enough liquidity to risk converting and then having to sell after.
