I expect Intel is one of the companies POET is under NDA with. Who knows this recent move by Intel to move towards III-V at smaller nodes may well have been influenced by POET?
Recall the battle which RIM lost and if POET does have NDA's many of the leading industry companies it would certainly get complicated would it not with no guarantee that Intel would ultimately be successful. Best to let POET continue to develop the technology in a focused manner with one of the leading compound semiconductor fabs.
Right now POET is just working on the photonic engine so just maybe they would want to do a joint development with the likes of Intel to build a POET processor with optical clock distribution. Certainly if Intel is going to begin working in III-V to improve electron mobility they would be quick to attempt to implement the optical side. Could be a very interesting development but certainly not on any investors radar at this time just worth being aware of for the future roadmap.
