It came as a surprise to everyone when they announced the Public Offering. My take is they need it to acquire a company or 2 overseas to solidify their supply chain. They have pretty much said as much.
They are currently sourcing the epitaxial layer from Epiworks, who was recently acquired by II-VI in addition to Anadigics. My gut tells me II-VI is doing some unsavory back door tactics and may even be trying to acquire POET itself. Perhaps the need for extreme financing and moving more shares into safe hands? And of course the Export permits seem to be causing a delay as well.
Who knows, but on Monday we need some pretty firm direction and importantly some high revenue guidance. Once guidance is made, perhaps some anaysts (US) can start to come on board.
