POET might be able to convince me it has value in my portfolio.

All they need to do is issue a statement like this from Weatherfords:

"While investor interest was strong for this offering, we are unwilling to sell securities at prices that do not reflect the value we have created at Weatherford," the company said in a statement.

I've suggested to IR that the offering be cancelled, and that an investigation into the share price manipulation be launched.
