What we know is that no offering has been closed, no price has been set. So to make any connection to the warrants that have not been issued yet is just strange in my opinion.

Fundamentally short sellers want a rising price. They sell into a runup. Warrant holders certainly have the ability to cover with warrants if they are not called before the hold period ends if it goes bad for them. But first they need to own the warrants.
