We know that the name POET cannot be protected by copy write since it is descriptive and consequently not unique. Also, if we can move to the NASDAQ I have a little bell ringing in my mind that a new name would be required. Furthermore, how when we have acquired BB and Denselight does our current name of POET Technology Inc indicate the wider technical influences we bought into with DL and BB.
There is also another greater concern. I sense in that what little coverage we have as PTI, that that name is associated with a perception label of small venture capital penny share enterprise. Which the last rather dismissive BNN broadcast pundit alluded too. I don’t like it.
Lets consider a new name.
POET as a process in an entrenched acronym. It will always refer to the process invented by Geoffrey Taylor but lets adopt a better more commercial company name.
My suggestion is under new name in the Off Topic Forum
