There was confusion, dismay, and panic from some about the timing of the AOC, and some felt it had been delayed from 2017 to 2018. This caused a stir, but the message from IR was that timelines have not significantly changed. Perhaps carefully examining the terminology helps.
From the last Corporate Presentation:
- Q4 2016 "First Integrated Transceiver Prototypes" and "enables start of customer validation"
- 2017 "Module Prototypes, AOC" (key here is prototypes)
From the recent Investor Presentation:
- 2018 "Commercialization of POET Optical Engine, AOC" (key word is commercialization)
So we go from the "First Integrated Transceiver Prototypes", then to "Module Prototypes, AOC", and finally to "Commercialization of POET Optical Engine, AOC".
So, this has not changed in terms of timing, just expanded to add a timeline for commercialization. Maybe this helps a bit?
