It seems to pre-empt any news release prior to the meeting. And a "brief update" would seem to imply nothing newsworthy, just a brief update, with little or no Q&A associated. Not sure what the Q&A is normally like at an AGM though, I have yet to attend.

Now, if the update is simply "VCSEL is optimized and prototype is ready for tape out", that would be nice.
