Makes no sense at all to let this expire. Even if it's not going to be used, you've used it in the past and therefore you just apply to get it extended and give yourself options.

This screams sloppy if this is the case. Not happy.

But if the Trademark Office made it clear that the name cannot be approved, then I suppose there's no reason to extend it.
