Infinera is not only competition but at the PIC International 2016 they were referred to as the "incumbent" of PIC technology. They have had a head start because of their products in Telecom. They, like everyone else, have been trying to move towards the data center but their PICs are expensive. It is this COST of their optical engines that leaves room for others like POET to beat them in the data center.
