Really the easiest way to think of this and why it is desirable is that it is a measure of efficiency. In other words optical to electrical and electrical to optical conversion with POET devices are going to set a new standard for industry. Efficiency equals energy savings (operating cost).
So we end up with POET providing not just the lowest cost integrated solution but the most efficient not just associated with the integration but with the active discrete components themselves.
Think about mobile devices and the continuing efforts to get more battery life. I kind of think it will be very clear what POET offers the smart phone industry as sensing plays a bigger role.
