Just a thought but POET could utilize the multispectral imaging to identify objects by their heat signature. Thus a person would be isolated from the background and selectively pinged by low power pulse laser for distance and motion.
I really have not even started looking at these types of applications yet but I do think that POETs capability to integrate these kinds of functions with a very low power budget and very small form factor makes it a natural fit.
It gives the title of the last CP new meaning:
POET…The “Smart” Opto Electronic Solution
Review the CP with this new information. You will have a new appreciation of what they are doing in this field and it probably indicates that these verticals have been brewing for a while.
