Before the new management team was assembled, the orginal milestones (VCEL, etc) were done with the idea of creating an integrated opto-electronic chip that they would showcase to the market and industry partners.
With AM, SV and SD all onboard now the vision has changed - for the better.
Now that POET in my opinion has validated the integrated chip, they are taking the initial plan even further: they are building a prototyped product as a proof of concept.
You will recall PC stating the new CEO and COO will take the company in directions previously not imagined. The proof of concept is what I believe he was referring to.
