This tells us, that the due dilligence being done on our new recruits was actually also being performed on the company by the execs themselves. Imagine the background work they would have done on POET, the technology, the stage it was at, Dr Taylor etc etc, in order that they felt comortable enough to walk away from lucrative, powerful positions at far more established companies. Would they leave the cozy confines of their current employ if there was even a HINT of some kind of issue at the milestone, prototype, production stage?
This, above all, could be the biggest de-risking factor given their level of industry knowlege.
