The SEC generally defines a penny stock as one that trades below US $5.00. Poet I believe wants to lose that title once and for all for the US market, so if the stock price is around say US $4.50, that is where a split would probably come into play to ensure their NASDAQ listing stays on course and they do not fall into penny stock status.
