I don't think the ads are intended to instantly increase volume, nor would they. I personally would not invest instantly based on an ad, especially if I did not understand the technology, which IMO would apply to most people. I suspect the ads are doing exactly what they are meant to, which is to increase awareness and curiosity, although we can't easily measure and confirm that either. Many investors are waiting for the news prior to investing, and would rather pay more with less risk. I think this is just the very beginning of promoting the stock, which will add significant benefits (volume and gains) once any news becomes public. Many of us have done the opposite, and many of us trust what management is doing, as they know the business better than all of us combined.
