First and foremost it shows us that the trend is real and cars are going to be asked to do more. There will be many ways to achieve this. In my opinion POET's strength in this area will continue to give it the ultimate advantage. For automobile application it has to be all about speed and silicon CMOS can't compete with the same advantages we have talked about. Plus it gets very interesting when we start using radar based systems because it would seem to me that there would be a lot of noise with every car on the road pinging each other. To me an optical system is what is needed. Total integration of RF, analog, digital, optical in my opinion has to yield the ultimate solution. 5G will make all these cars talk to each other quickly enough that crash avoidance becomes planned between cars (adaptive rather than responsive).
