The Apple Watch will reportedly include a power-saving mode that reduces the wearable's functionality to that of a normal watch. The New York Times says the Apple Watch includes a feature called Power Reserve. That feature makes it so that the wearable is only displaying the current time.

Apple has not confirmed the existence of this feature, but so long as wearables have short battery lives, a power-saving mode will be useful.

The Apple Watch is still expected to launch in April following a March 9 event. It's possible this feature will not materialize since Apple has stayed away from power-saving modes in its phones. However, we expect to learn a lot more about the Apple Watch at this event.

The entry-level Apple Watch model will set you back by $349. The most premium models will run into thousands of dollars.
