When I lived in Canada (Quebec) my family played Boggle with our English Canadian neighbours. Boggle is find a hidden word by association type game. It became quite clear how much English English and Canadian English had drifted apart.

I think it was Churchill who described the British relationship with America as 'two nations separated by a common language' sometimes also accredited to George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde.
