I think it's better that he's in a healthy position above being the 10% insider then right around it or below. This way like someone posted after this one, he is subject to black out periods as well as Pinetree being on the board. Since he is a healthy amount above the 10% limit, there's no concerns with him dumping blindy, as he did in the past if I'm not mistaken.
He'd have to declare them as sales and everyone would know what he was doing or when he did it.
It's likely that he saw the recent developments POET has done, the strong management pieces in place, got his guy on the board, and now is in it to the monetization point.
Also, from what I'm seeing on the board, it seems PNP.TO forum members are quite content with the PTK stake.
