Going back at least 5 years ago, the question was raised at one of the quarterly conference calls why MNKD is not actively pursuing other applications of the Technosphere technology. The answer was that once Technosphere was approved for Afrezza, it would substantially reduce the hurdles w/ future FDA applications. More recently, mnkd has engaged in collaborations with other drug companies for using Technosphere, but I am still hopeful that there will be a string of home runs as other popular drugs that are reaching end of patnet have their patent lives extended by moving to technosphere delivery platform.
