Income tax, payroll taxes, and all the other "piddly" little taxes that government imposes on its people, created most of the problems that the U.S. faces today.
A "Fair Tax" means you only pay taxes on things that you purchase. You get to keep ALL you earn, and you buy what you can afford! No income tax, no payroll tax, no taxes on taxes etc.
What a novel idea. What a good way to help keep manufacturing here in the U.S!
This may not be the ultimate solution to America's problems, but it sure could be a good start.

The idea of a "Fair Tax" was briefly explored and abandoned here in Canada because initially, politicians were afraid of the impact it would have on those who earn minimum wage, and so it was subsequently filed away into box "thirteen".
