We had Gordie Howe and the Houston Aeros in the late 70s/early 80s, so I know more than I let on. What really amazed me was the defense around the net...goalie and defensemen....absolutely brilliant agility and saavy....on both teams. This is the biggest difference from 30 years ago....that and the size and power of the modern day player. And these olympic teams also have incredible depth, so the coaching dilemma is in getting super stars to play team bit rolls.

I was rooting for one of those sudden death "charge the goalie" tie-breakers, but a lightning fast slap shot put it away. I appreciate greatness and athleticism....this transcends winner and loser....pic
