Here's the COTs for Gold & Silver & as can be seen there's plenty of room for the positions to rise further.

The Open Interest is 2/3rds of what it was at the last peak.

So one can expect the Open Interest to rise and for the shorts to increase as the longs increase.

Too many complain about the gold shorts without realising that they are only offsetting the longs.

So for the price & positions to rise there must be an increase in shorts as there must be an increase in the longs.

The COTs always net out.

And the COTS for silver show lots of room to rise.

Open Interest is half what it was at the last peak.
