The Public Ministry commissioned the fiscal state environmental 23rd Lara, Andres Rodriguez Sanchez, to investigate the environmental damage alleged to have been caused by illegal mining in the Upper Caura, in Bolivar state.

This was announced by the director of Integrated Defense Environment and Environmental Crime, Rosalba Melillo, on "In Tune with the Public Prosecutor," broadcast by Radio Nacional de Venezuela.

Melillo said that it has noted with concern the deforestation of one of the territories had remained untouched for years.

He noted that The Caura is a forest reserve areas that is still pristine. "There are original forests that were born with the reservation. For this and more, we must safeguard to protect watersheds, animals, plants," he said.

He added that the objective of the authorities is that the process operation is well run, with legal permit requirements in order to avoid damaging the surface layer of the earth.

It also noted that no permits are heavy equipment seized in order to mitigate the damage, and it is necessary the conjunction of all entities in addressing environmental issues under a single guideline to resolve the situation.

It is noteworthy that environmental taxes applied in due course, and were agreed initial precautionary measures for the jungle area of Bolivar State, so that officials from the Bolivarian National Guard, whenever seized materials, tools and elements for mining must be completely destroyed immediately.

Among the actions of the Attorney General to protect and safeguard the environment, have been requested and agreed to interim measures for national parks Warairarepano, Henry Pittier and San Esteban, under drought in the country presented and produced several fires.
