Military sources indicated that 120 Russian soldiers and two helicopters are used for the military maneuvers that has waked up the fear between the settlers of Maripa, capital of the Sucre municipality.

The sequels of the mining reconversion in the 2006, where several miners, fishermen and natives in the zone of the Paragua and Maripa passed away, were revividas with the present combat operation motivated by the diverse denunciations of environmental destruction, realised through mass media for months.

Residents informed that besides the maneuver of the Army three days ago a died miner was removed, in an isolated fact that it is not related to the operation.

Other military sources revealed that the denunciations done by the candidate to Oswaldo deputy Ponce, on the presumed complicity between miners and Military staff and the Direction of Inteligencia Militar (DIM) caused the action ordinate from Caracas.

According to note of Radio National of Venezuela, Ministry Public comisionó to public prosecutor 23° environmental, Andres Rodriguez Sanchez, so that it investigates the ecological damages that presumably have been produced by the illegal mining in the zone of the Caura Stop, in the state Bolivar.

The note reveals that the information was presented by the director Integral Defense the Atmosphere and Environmental Crime, Rosalba Melillo, in the program “In Syntony with the Public Ministry”, transmitted by National Radio of Venezuela.

Melillo mentioned that the deforestation of one of the territories has been observed with preoccupation that had stayed intact per years.

It emphasized that the Caura is one of the zones of forest reserve that still stays pristine. “They are original forests, that were born with the reserve. By this and more, we must safeguard it to protect the river basins, the animal, the vegetal species”, emphasized.
