My condolences to Richards family. Richard provided sound insights into the company over the years. I had several personal email exchanges, way back when and always respected his analysis. He brought allot to the table as many of the posters past and present do but he seemed to look at our investment with a critical eye and his contribution was significant. I don't track these things but since invested, there have been several stallwart investors that have not seen the light of a return. Donald Duck, Minister, Sabre, I'm sure i"m missing a few, and now Richard. My appologies for not posting more often but my priorities are in other places. Best to out investment and all the faithful.

Hi Iam,
Just thought I'd make a correction about the financials being released by June 15th. I think the annual report is required within 90 days after the close of the 4th Q. (March 30th) That makes the due date June 30th. Nothing says they can't report earlier but that is up to the process and whether the financials are ready for release. Quarterly results are due 45 days after the completion of the quarter. I too am looking forward to an update but the more significant results should be released for the present Q due by August 15th. Hopefully with a shareholder meeting on it's heals.

Thing is we're dealing with Apple, the company that dropped Portal Player just because they disclosed they had developed the platform for their Ipod. Then Apple contracted Samsung to replace Portal Player. Chances are they will cloke whatever happened in secrecy just because it's Apple, espicially if the settlement is just a portion of a yet to be completed agreement. (Partnership - buy out)
Just a thought, but it would seem to me that if an Apple buy out was at stake, they would want to clear the ground floor of all remaining issues. If that is what is playing out, then I would expect silence until all the litigatation is resolved. The compelling notion is that an Apple's settlement came out of nowhere. I've always felt that Apple would have been better off buying EDIG outright than stretching the process out thru litigation. They would own the patents and persue the litigation of the remaining infringers....Those that haven't already been served notice. The most receint list of infringers came along in a flurry and my bet is they will be resolved with expediency. I can't think of a reason that this pacer notice of settlement with Apple could possibly be interpreted as bad news.
It could very well be that the judge offered his comment of having an opinion in the next 2 weeks because he knew he was going on vacation or had another obligation. It seems like it was unusual that he mention that he would try and have an opinion on a certain timetable. That doesn't strike me a normal and I suspect he had a reason for doing so....he just didn't make it happen. Would have been nice but now we speculate!
