Normabec Mining Resources - Update

DRILLING AT PITT GOLD INTERSECTS 10.43 G/T AU

OVER 3.0 METERS AND 11.11 G/T AU OVER 1.8 M

St-Bruno, Quebec, March 18th, 2008. Normabec Mining Resources Limited ("NORMABEC", TSX-V: NMB or the "Company") is pleased to announce additional results from its on-going winter drilling program on the Pitt Gold property, located along the Porcupine-Destor Break, some 35 km north of Rouyn-Noranda, in the Abitibi region of Quebec.

Normabec previously released impressive results from its first two first holes of the season (See Press Releases dated February 28, 2008 and January 29, 2008). The current release lists more excellent results from its completed third drill hole as per the table below:

DRILL HOLE FROM TO LENGTH GRADE

(m) (m) (m) g/t Au

PG2008-01 277.0 279.00 2.0 1.53

426.0 429.0 3.0 10.43

443.0 477.0 34.0 1.61

and 466.0 477.0 11.0 . 2.31

570.9 572.7 1.8 11.11

Hole PG2008-01 is located 100 metres to the east of the previously released PG2007-07 (February 2008, 35.18 g/t Au over 5.0 meters). The mineralized intervals between 426 and 477 metres correspond to the expected location of Zone 1 while the 11.11 g/t Au between 570.9 and 572.7 corresponds with mineralization encountered in Zone 2. Of significance, it is the first time that such a long, continuously mineralized interval (34 meters) has been reported from Pitt Gold project. It is hosted by weakly mineralized and moderately silicified and sericitized felsic units (sub-volcanic QFP intrusions and related rhyolitic extrusive rocks) exhibiting 1-5% disseminated pyrite. This mineralization is open up dip and will be drill tested in the coming weeks.

Drilling is ongoing with one drill rig, having now completed approximately 4,500 meters during this phase. Five holes have been completed and one is in progress. As mentioned above, results have now been received and reported for the first three holes. Drilling is performed on a semi-systematic 50 X 50 meter grid in order to properly define zones 1 and 2 and other gold bearing structures identified in previous drilling programs.

Samples were prepared and assayed at Laboratoire Expert of Rouyn-Noranda and were subjected to fire assay with AA finish. A batch of 16 samples were also

sent to ALS Chemex in Val d’Or. Normabec has implemented a QAQC program which includes systematic use of standards, blanks and duplicates. Values above 1 g/t Au are systematically re-assayed.

The 2008 drilling program is being carried out under the supervision of Mr. Pierre O’Dowd, geologist and Qualified Person as per National Instrument 43-101.

In 2007, Normabec acquired a 60 percent interest in the Pitt Gold property as per the Option Purchase Agreement signed with SOQUEM Inc. and GeoNova Exploration Inc.. The company has completed more than 21,000 meters of drilling on the property since the signing of this agreement. Notably, the company has recently notified its partners that it has facilitated the conditions of its earn-in under the aforementioned agreement to qualify for the acquisition of an additional 20 percent undivided interest in the property. Normabec is in the process of preparing all documentation pertaining to this notification.

SOQUEM is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Société générale de financement du Québec (SGF). The mission of the SGF, an industrial and financial holding, is to undertake economic development projects, in the industrial sector, in cooperation with partners and in compliance with the economic development policies of the Quebec government.

GeoNova is a wholly owned exploration company of Campbell Resources Inc., a mining Corporation which operates mainly in the Chibougamau area (Quebec), and holds several gold and copper properties.

Normabec is a junior mining exploration company with a portfolio of advanced exploration projects including: the Pitt Gold Project in Quebec and the Real de Catorce Silver Project in Mexico.

NORMABEC INTERCEPTS 35.18 G/T AU OVER

5.0 METERS ON PITT GOLD

St-Bruno, Quebec, February 28th, 2008.

In January, the company released results from the first hole PG2007-06 (1) (Zone 2: 11.3 g/t Au over 2.0 meters from 651 to 653 metres along the hole). The following table includes results from the second hole of the program (PG2007-07).

(1) Drill holes started in December 2007 and assayed in 2008

The impressive results obtained in PG2007-07 appear to correspond to Zone 1. It is located 60 metres above hole DQ96-43 (6.05 g/t Au over 1.75 m) and 30 metres below hole PG2007-01 (7.47 g/t Au over 0.90 m). While the individual value of 300.72 g/t Au is the highest ever returned from the property, it is interesting to note that no visible gold was observed confirming that the occurrence of gold is closely related to the sulphide mineralization (fine pyrite).

Although the mineralized horizon of the property hosts several gold bearing structures, Zone 1 and 2 host structures that exhibit the best continuity encountered to date. Both zones of mineralization can now be traced laterally and vertically for approximately 500 metres. The intersection in PG2007-07 is found in the central western portion of Zone 1.

Drilling on Pitt Gold continues with one drill rig. The company is planning to complete approximately 8,500 meters of drilling during this phase of the project

with the principal objective being to target and further delineate additional high grade mineralization intersected since 2006 below the 450 meters level (see PG2006-01). Of note to date, is that all of the ten gold values above 34 g/t Au (1.0 oz/t) intersected so far on the project were obtained below the 450 metre level.

Samples were prepared and assayed at Laboratoire Expert of Rouyn-Noranda and were subjected to fire assay with AA finish.

In 2007, Normabec acquired a 60 percent interest in the Pitt Gold property, as per the option purchase agreement signed with SOQUEM Inc. and GeoNova Exploration Inc. The Company has completed more than 19,000 meters of drilling on the property since the signing of this agreement. Normabec is now in the process of earning an additional 20 percent interest in the property by undertaking exploration expenditures (incl. drilling) of C$500,000 before June 2008.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite everybody to visit Normabec at PDAC Core Shack booth 5018A on Sunday, March 2nd and Monday, March 3rd. Normabec team will exhibit drill core from the Real de Catorce Silver project in Mexico.

Normabec is a junior mining exploration company with a portfolio of advanced exploration projects including: the Pitt Gold Project in Quebec and the Real de Catorce Silver Project in Mexico.

Noront Resources Ltd.: Near Surface High Grade Drill Hole at Windfall Lake
08:32 EDT Wednesday, March 19, 2008

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 19, 2008) - Noront Resources Ltd. "Noront" (TSX VENTURE:NOT) is pleased to announce a further significant diamond drill intersection from the Company's Windfall Lake Property situated in Urban Township in the Abitibi Region of Quebec.

Hole NOT-07-175 was one of 15 holes (221.85 m) drilled in conjunction with crown pillar and hydrogeological studies required by provincial regulations that deal with underground work in the vicinity of water bodies. Following completion of geotechnical studies the core from these holes was returned to Noront for geological evaluation and the mineralized sections were then sampled and submitted. No significant assays were reported in the remaining 14 holes.

NOT-07-175 (9+62 mW, 9+95 mN, azimuth 0 degrees, dip -90 degrees, NQ size) was completed to 16.76 m returning the following significant interval. True width of this interval is unknown at this time.

------------------------------------------------------------- Interval Gold ------------------------------------------------------------- From To (m) (m) (m) (ft) (g/t) (oz/T) ------------------------------------------------------------- 9.73 10.72 0.99 3.3 3.00 0.09 ------------------------------------------------------------- 10.72 11.30 0.58 1.9 115.00 3.35 ------------------------------------------------------------- 11.30 12.19 0.89 2.9 430.00 13.11 ------------------------------------------------------------- 12.19 12.45 0.26 0.9 23.50 0.69 ------------------------------------------------------------- 12.45 12.67 0.22 0.7 1.60 0.05 ------------------------------------------------------------- 12.67 12.95 0.28 0.9 9.60 0.28 ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- AVERAGE 9.73 12.95 3.22 10.6 143.30 4.18 -------------------------------------------------------------

Patrick Chance, the QP, observed finely divided native gold at several locations in the higher grade intervals in amounts and grain sizes that are consistent with analytical data reported by Bourlamaque Assay Laboratory. The intersection confirms the extension of Murgor's F-17 zone towards surface. An exploration drift will enter this zone at about 60 m below surface during 2008.

Noront proposes to complete several short surface holes to confirm and better define the extent of high grade mineralization in the vicinity of NOT-07-175.

The hole was drilled on the portion of the property held under option from Murgor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MUG) and Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FWR) (see Noront press release of Feb 5, 2007).

The Company anticipates that Monterie Expert, the Company's underground contractor, will take the first ramp round by the end of the week of 17 March. Monterie Expert is currently installing surface plant and facilities and plans to complete mobilization of heavy equipment in advance of the annual highway load limit season.

Noront expects to complete Phase 1 of the underground programme before the end of 2008. This phase will enter the F-11, F-17 and NOT-06-100 areas up to 100 m below surface.

Hole NOT-07-175 was one of 15 holes (221.85 m) drilled in support of geotechnical and hydrological studies by Forage Abitibi under the supervision of Qualitas Monterval, "Monterval", a geotechnical subcontractor. The core was processed offsite by Monterval and subsequently returned to Noront's custody at which time mineralized intervals were selected for assay by an experienced geological technician employed by Noront. This hole was not drilled according to prescribed Noront protocols, as it was drilled to satisfy provincial regulations, however Patrick Chance, the company's QP on the project is satisfied that the integrity of the data has not been comprised in any way.

Samples are taken from (NQ) diamond drill core which is sawed in half, packaged and delivered to Bourlamaque Assay Laboratory for analysis. The remaining half core is stored in a secure location for future reference and further testing. All samples are assayed using a 30-gram fire assay charge with an atomic absorption finish (for which the upper detection limit is 10 g/t). Samples reporting greater than 2 g/t are re-assayed in duplicate using aliquots of the original pulp and of an additional split of the coarse rejects. The re-assay method also comprises a 30 g charge but employs a gravimetric finish.

Noront designates samples in batches of 20. The assay laboratory reports its internal standards, and blanks and duplicates. The Bourlamaque Assay Lab holds a certificate of laboratory proficiency for the analysis of gold issued under the Proficiency Testing Program for Mineral Analysis Laboratories which is administered by CANMET.

Gold assays are reported to the company in parts per million (ppm) and reported publicly by the company in grams per tonne (1 ppm equals 1 gram per tonne). Conversions to ounces per ton (oz/ton) on the tables above employ a factor of 34.2857 grams per tonne equaling 1 troy ounce per short ton. Lengths are reported in meters and are converted to feet by dividing by 0.3048 m/ft (1 foot equals 0.3048 m).

One of the qualified persons responsible for overseeing and reviewing the technical data on the Windfall Lake project is Patrick Chance P.Eng. The technical information prepared for disclosure in this Noront news release has been approved by Mr. Chance.

The diamond drill program was completed in an orderly fashion as determined by the Company's geological team including Tracy Armstrong, P.Geo., (a qualified geologist in the Province of Quebec) of P & E Mining Consultants Inc. Noront is a tier 2 junior resource company on the TSX Venture Exchange, trading symbol NOT, with 125,377,082 shares issued to date.
