sour gas, 09-01 Well

HI

Can anyone elaborate on this part of the message.

Due to the high pressure and sour gas rates

encountered, well control and safety was the main
priority during these operations. Furthermore,
regulatory restrictions on testing of critical sour
wells limit Questerre's ability to conduct an extended
cleanup and flow back for the 09-01 Well. Further
testing of this well will require critical sour
processing facilities and pipelines. Currently there
are no such sour facilities in the immediate area. As
a result, the 09-01 Well is currently suspended as a
potential gas producer while the Company evaluates
options for producing the well and new drilling on
this block.

Does that mean that we most likely will not see any production for this area (QEC 100%).

Statoil strengthens US shale gas position

Statoil strengthens US shale gas position

Statoil has signed an agreement with Chesapeake which will add approximately 59000 net acres to Statoil's current 600000 net acre positions in the Marcellus Shale.

The cost to Statoil of the transaction is USD 253 million, with an average acreage cost of USD 4325 per acre.

As part of Statoil’s joint venture agreement with Chesapeake in 2008, Statoil has the right to periodically acquire its share of leasehold that Chesapeake continues to acquire in the Marcellus Shale. Statoil has now exercised such acquisition rights on a series of Chesapeake Marcellus Shale acquisitions.

Statoil has seen very encouraging production performance since the entry into the Marcellus play in late 2008. This new acreage is expected to strengthen the position of Statoil and our cooperation with Chesapeake as the largest lease holders in one of the most prospective US shale gas plays.

This acquisition will enable the partnership to optimize its development activity and secure additional developments in the play. Statoil expects to continue to grow its Marcellus position together with Chesapeake.

Andy Winkle, VP for the Marcellus Asset, says "We were an early mover into the Marcellus and we will continue to build a long term position in what we expect will become a legacy asset and reach our goal of 50000 boepd production by 2012."

Statoil is an international energy company with over 35 years of experience on the Norwegian continental shelf. Today the company has operations worldwide.

Re: The Disappearance of the Natural Gas Glut

Hi.

Not so good from Norwegian export but bether for shale-gas in America.

LNG

- Many believe that shale gas will change the gas markets. It will mean death for the export of LNG to the United States. A sign of this is that there are many LNG ships is laid up (Without kontrack). What will the change mean for Statoil?

Long-term

Natural gas accounts for an increasing share of petroleum production on the Norwegian continental shelf. The fall in oil production is compensated with more gas. Most new discoveries are made in the 2000s is of the gas, and international oil companies like Shell looks at gas as the most important contribution in the energy sector over the next few decades.

- What is the group's views on natural gas?

- Historically, natural gas provided good returns and we have long-term faith in the natural gas. This is a competitive fuel where there are large reserves. Natural gas is the cleanest of the fossil fuels and will be very important in a period of transition to renewable energy resources. Currently natural gas is the only option for reducing CO2 emissions on a large scale in the OECD countries. Close to 2 / 3 of the emissions of CO2 will be gone by a transition to gas power rather than the old coal power plants.

- We believe that it will mean a lot of countries in Europe, but not least in the U.S., where a large portion of power generation based on coal. The advantage of gas power plants is that they are quick to build and easy to run in time. Much of the development will depend on how different countries interpret the agreement that was signed in Copenhagen just before Christmas.

Now there is a total of 17 ships laid up in the harbor district.

There are seven container vessels, three car carriers, three LNG carriers (natural gas) and four smaller dry cargo vessels at Karmøy.

NG prices

Hei.

I read an article about the Norwegian view of shale gas that is being developed in North America.

http://www.aftenbladet.no/energi/kommentar/1166876/Skifergass_ndash_en_revolusjon_i_markedet.html

GIP is so large that it can impact investments in Norway. Shale gas is so cheap to produce that they do not earn enough to transport gas from Norway and Stockman (northern Russia) to North America.

It can also be our reason for NG prices do not rise in North America.

What we can hope for is that consumption goes up.
Someone who knows about plans to build more NG power plants? Gas filling for trucks and cars.? Other things ??

Sorry if it is grammatical errors. But it was the best google translator did. hehe.

royalty for QEC

Hi

I have a small question for you. You've probably answered this before but I did not understand it.

How does the royalty for QEC work.? 4.25% of Talisman and QEC's share.? 71.8% talisman and (23.9 + 4.25)% to QEC
