Wow.......those are incredible grades the locals have been recovering over the last 10 months. This truly is a high grade property

The local artisan miners have recovered 350kg of gold from (at the most)1000 tonnes of rock over the last 10 months.....that means they are averaging least 350 g/t Au .....all dug up by hand or with hand tools and all near surface less than 15 Meters deep

So at that rate the locals are producing about 14800 oz per year on the MEG property...... by hand

It is important to remember that SD will getting 50% of all profits for the next year at MEG and this is not chump change by means......14800oz Au x $1200 oz = $17,760,000 - 50% = $8.8 Million

I realize that SD only gets 50% of the profits but seriously how much can it cost to dig up this gold by hand......not much I would think....but even if somehow in the worst case scenario it cost say 600 oz (lol) SD would still be walking away with $4.4 Million over the next year and somehow SD's Market Cap is still less than $15 million F/D.............so much upside here.

Sidon International (SD, TSX-V)

Sidon pulled back early in the week but found strong support at 10 cents, as BMR’s technical analyst predicted, and roared higher Thursday and Friday to close the week at 16 cents, a 4-cent increase over the previous Friday…there is clearly a lot of interest in the high grade Morogoro East Gold Property in Tanzania that Sidon has an opportunity to purchase outright in an option agreement with a private company…Sidon was the most active stock on the CDNX Friday, trading a whopping 9.7 million shares (Gold Bullion was the 2nd most active with 4.5 million), after an 8 million share day Thursday…Sidon is currently trading in a zone of resistance up to 17 cents – more huge volume will be required to overcome that resistance either immediately or a little further down the road…we added Sidon to the BMR Portfolio back in March at just a nickel and we took some heat for that from certain quarters as the company has not had a great track record in terms of advancing projects…but Sidon has never had a project with such blue sky potential as Morogoro East which is in an under-explored, highly prospective region of eastern Tanzania along the same geological belt (or a parallel belt) as Canaco’s (CAN, TSX-V) extremely promising Handeni Project which is the focus of a lot of investor attention right now…often with these early-stage situations like Sidon (Gold Bullion and Seafield too when we first introduced them) you see certain blemishes (horrible web sites, projects in the past that may not have panned out, etc.) but you need to look beyond that try to envision how the company’s future may unfold with a really attractive project that it can focus on and develop – something with real merit and a lot of potential sizzle…going forward, we believe Sidon will be able to raise the money necessary to explore and develop Morogoro East and will also beef up its “people infrastructure” which is critical – the right people on the ground (as Gold Bullion and Seafield have) to move the project along successfully and unlock all of its potential…Sidon is very speculative, like many of the other companies we follow, but the geological potential of the area that Morogoro East covers cannot be disputed…could Sidon become another Canaco?…yes, anything’s possible, just like Gold Bullion is now starting to show Osisko-style potential…

though u will not see the property, it is located approx 25 km SE of the town of morogoro on a gravel road.

so just for info.......

i would be surprised if we get news though it would be nice if sidon threw out a release or two with meat in it. i imagine any samples they are currently taking will take a couple of weeks or more to be assayed. don't know the turn around time for the lab they use in dar es salaam. and it is possible some that missed the boat with canaco are trying to make up with SD. i guess the current program will tell them where to put the drills for initial exploration

There are geologists on site in Morogoro gathering samples for testing in a lab in Dar Es Salaam. These samples will help the geologists to know where to put the drills for initial exploration. And no, an exact time frame can't be given but they are doing this diligently and as fast as they can.

They know the importance of helping the locals. Part of that was to help the artisan miners who were without water. Sidon has now provided them with a pump (could be more than one - don't remember) so that these artisan miners now have access to water. Sidon gets 50% of any gold that these miners recover.

from what i understand from something i heard before is that the property is on the same trend as Canaco's property. And I thought it was within 100 km.....but obviously whether it is 100 or 200 km distance....it is not what I would consider in close proximity.

But there is gold on Sidon's morogoro property because artisan miners are bringing it out. but what needs to be determined is how much is actually there.
