nothing new here

I've stayed away from this forum for quite a time due to family commitments, but couldn't resist making a comment on this fiasco. If you've been around the TSE for the past fifty odd years then this is a fairly typical promoter play. How many bought in when they saw the early upward momentum thinking that we were finally on the move. But more importantly how many started to sell knowing that this particular play was a dog and pony show.

The reality of Noront is that nothing major will play out with this stock until the Province and the Feds get their act together, and given the budget deficit that both these governments face the ROF is probably pretty low on their radar For them the reality is that the ore is still in the ground, will always be there and at some point they will determine that they want to get the infrastructure done. There really is no appetite out there for nickel or chromium mining stocks and this isn't about to change soon.

Thats not to say that Noront isn't a viable play , but not in the near to short term.I think we will see Noront languish in the 20-40 cent range for a while and for some of us we will continue to accumulate, but only small $$'hoping that in the future it may payoff.

For those of us that think there is still $$ to be made in this market then possibly graphene may be the play.

I've been watching from the sidelines

Let me start by saying, family and business have precluded me from being as involved in the forum as I would like to be and for that I apologise.

The latest moves by Noront to acquire Cliffs stake is extremely positive for every player in the ROF. Notwithstanding the loan from Franco Nevada should be put in perspective. This "loan" comes with conditions not the least of which is the assumption that Noront will mine the ore body within a reasonable term, and be in a position to pay back the loan. Also lets be honest although 20 odd mill isn't chicken feed in the overall scheme of investments that Franco Nevada make this is relatively a fairly small investment for them. What is more interesting to me is their obvious interest in the ROF whether as an investor but more importantly as a future major player and developer of the ore bodies.

On the First Nations, does this really surprise anyone? They are obviously pushing hard to ensure that no one , ie government or miner or investor is not going to do anything on their land unless they get what they consider to be their fair share. We can all get p'd off with them but bottom line is the Province and the Feds have no choice but to negotiate an agreement with them. That doesn't mean giving away the farm but it does mean coming up with something that will allow them to buy into the development. Frank at KWG had a great idea and that is to give them management rights over the roads and everyone pays a toll to use them. After all look at the hundreds of millions the 407 has generated for those investors.

I'm over in London and let me assure you no one in this investment community will commit any of their investrs $$ to the ROF until the Province and Feds get their infrastructure act together. So the obvious question is will they invest once this is straightened out and the resounding answer is YES.

Over the past months the family has been slowly acquiring more Noront shares and we anticipate acquiring more over the summer months. We are also acquiring shares in Bold as we are big supporters of Richard Nemis and John Harvey and we think if anyone can find the elephant they will on Fancamp property.

anyway thats my thoughts , we are long on the ROF and have been since day one

they say patience is a virtue , well we all must have loads of that.

take Cliffs comments for what they are

"A WAKE UP CALL" for the FN and both levels of Government.

Hopefully Gravelle is listening this time but more importantly is Kathleen Wynn listening. IMO Noront and KWG need to hire a group of well known lobbyists to work on their behalf with both levels of Governments. Hell if they can't get this off the ground with Harper before the next election then we could be in for quite a wait, especially if he pulls off a win.

I don't get too excited with rhetoric coming from any mining company these days, the old saying of "actions speak louder than words" is what we really need now from Wynn and Harper.

Holding strong and accumulating whenever possible

Reverse Split

I had asked Eagle to comment on the rumours of the RS, still waiting on an aswer. They did however make a comment regarding a RS to someone who posted on stockhouse. According to Eagle there is a probability of a RS once they complete the PEA, probably the first 1/4 or second of 2015 and the reason being they need to attract some larger investors, i.e. more money. Of course if the winter drilling hits the mother lode then all bets are off.

I've been investing in junior mining companies for fifty years, gone through the ups and downs , made $$ and lost $$, thankfully made more profit than loss, and I can honestly say that I have never ever made $$ when a company does a RS. The only winners in that game are the large shareholders.

I've been a strong supporter of Eagle especially when Ned and Proult took control , I believe the company has a great resource at Windfall and handled correctly the company will become a takeover target for a major. However given my knowledge of RS I will be re-examining my investment with a view to an exit prior to any RS happening, and an exit hopefully with a small profit.

Don't bother explaining the RS math to me I've heard it all before, and it just never works out to the benefit of the small retail investor.

Good luck to all with your investments and remember do your own DD

my take

I apologise for not writing regularly, family health precluded taking part in the dialogue.

Having said that. we have been closely following the situations in the ROF. The family are deeply invested in both Noront, KWG. and Cliffs. In the past few years we focused on when we could expect a reasonable ROI and we thought within 5 years. When the Liberals came out with their budget and put the $1B out there we thought the Tories would finally come forward and at least match the Ont Govt support. Boy were we wrong, then we thought ok the Liberals can still do this by opening it up to the private sector, after all a few years back OMERS said they had a few $B to invest in infrastructure projects. The Teachers also have $B available for investment , but still nothing from the Liberals.

Next we saw Gravelle make the most stupid announcement re the Infrastructure Development Corporation with nothing but Bureaucrats on the Committee. How stupid could he be , no this does not require an answer. This man has no credibility within the investment community. If Wynn seriously wants this project to get off the gound she needs to find another project leader one who has credibility within the business community and can galvanise the stakeholders to move this along.

Let me give you my take on Cliffs , the family voted with Casablanca to replace Cliffs management. The investment they have in the ROF is definitely up for sale, but Casablanca are also an extemely smart investor and it is doubtful if they will sell this asset at a fire sale price. Sure Noront through Baosteel could make a bid but if they expect Casablanca to take a haircut down to a buzzcut just to dump the asset I think they may be wrong. There are two or three majors who would love to bank this asset and they will be involved in the bidding process.

Bottom line for us, this is, and will, become a major mining development, after all there is now no question as to the value of the ore bodies and it can only get better. Will Wynn get off her derriere and move this forward, doubtful. Will the Federal Tories realise how crucial this investment is for Canada, doubtful though Harper will offer all sorts of incentives before the next election so will the Federal Liberals and NDP. each of them will make this a part of the platform for Ontario, they'd be stupid not to.

Will all of this ever come to fruition, definitely, but will I be around to ever see that ROI, doubtful. Will my children and grandchildren reap the reward of my investment, hopefully. As the price of Noront's shares decline we will continue to buy and increase our holding, as one of the family says it really is a no brainer. However are there other opprtunities out there to make a faster ROI , absolutely.

Good luck to all of you with your investments

BNN

for those that are long on Noront we've heard it all before. I look at it this way every time it dips like this is a buying opportunity.

Lets be practical, the ore is in the ground it's not going away, Baosteel didn't invest in a loser, these guys know what they want and they have deep deep pockets and can wait. The majors haven't been sniffing around because they just like the area. For those that bash Cliffs, if they hadn't moved in when they did would the Ont Govt have even been interested. Ok Cliffs is in the dumper and who's lined up to pick up the pieces in the ROF, Noront, you don't do that if you're illiquid.

keep the faith we longs know what the eventual value of this stock will be and we will all be winners.

Have a great Canada day weekend
