I'm curious about your statement.

"I have to believe the mm's want/need shares."

It seems to be a commonly brought up topic.

Last week Dish reported the short amount of Edig stock was about 308+k. Not really a lot considering the 293+ million shares outstanding. That info came from shortsqueeze.com I believe.

I'm asking this because I really don't understand how anyone MM's included could be in need of more shares than the 308K shares reported.

Do the MM's not have to report the shares they may have shorted?

Or, am I just looking at this question wrong?
