FCU - still a good play

For anyone looking for alternative investments outside Copper/Desert Fox, Fission still looks excellent. 3 suitors looking to buy right now, $25M bought deal financing just announced, news results on drilling almost every week from a $12M program. It has spiked the last few weeks, certainly ... but there may well be more upside coming if the looming uranium shortages materialize and institutional buyers keep piling in.

Hats off to the long-suffering longs who still continue to keep the faith with CUU. I've come to realize my investing horizon definitely isn't long-term (but medium or short, unless things are going sky-high).

Cheers.

Fission CEO video update

Here's a nice recap and foward looking plans for FCU. Anyone buying FUU? I think there could be some good upside there and am looking forward to some drill results.

Life after CUU

I'm hardly on the board anymore, but pop in once in a blue moon because I was so focused on CUU for a few years. As some know, through PM's, I sold my entire position between January and March 2013 because I didn't like the BFS or how the delays played out (despite managements many promises).

I did see what I thought was another good near term investment and fortunately it worked out, and I made some good money back that I happened to be down because of CUU (I am one of the lucky ones who bought right up to 2.70! Good life lesson I call it.). I only say this to say that there is life and good investments post-CUU.

My feelings on CUU haven't really changed from 6-9 months ago. I think it will be a mine at some point, I think there is upside from here, but I think this could be years in the making. I can't see it ever getting down to the single digit range again, because so much work has been done since 08-09 to now, and Teck seems to want to move this forward.

Has it bottomed now? No clue. From my vantage the timing is a big unknown, that's why I will watch and wait on the sidelines. Just one perspective among many here of course, an announcement could come tomorrow.

Good luck to all - those with a short timeframe, those with a long timeframe, those in-between, etc.

It would be satisfying to see a bigger, more economical deposit proved up I must say ... at least I would be right on one thing, when eating crow about the "potential" that hasn't yet been realized in NI 43-101 docs.

Re: Sprott says gold heading for $2400 by 2014

Yes, Sprott is down many hundreds of millions personally, but is still a believer. Who knows, repeat it enough as the big banks do and you can create your own move upwards.

Re: Copper Fox provides update on corporate activities

Seriously, that's the big distribution? I guess the math makes sense at least for what is in cash.

Pretty pathetic after the long wait however. Wonder how dessert fox is planning to garner support after this showing? GLTA

Re: FCU hits 1.05 - great short term play

I actually held FIS (Fission Energy) back when Fukushima happened and got to experience the plummetting of that stock. The thing I like with uranium is that prices are quite low right now with quite a few analysts calling for upside (sorry, no time to look for numbers reporting on this). We're probably all a bit jaded with analysts prediciting future commodities markets right now, and the flip flopping that goes on month to month or week to week.

I do know that hundreds of nuclear reactors are being built around the world however, and that with low prices which seem to have stabilized fairly well, there is good possibility for upside. Many of the new reactors aren't the scope of the old ones and are much safer, or so I understand.

What I like with FCU (Fission Uranium - spinco from FIS) is the track record the company has with landing JV's (e.g. KEPCO), raising money, aggressive drilling throughout the year, and proven leadership who've done this before (exploring and selling assets).

Two things to check out for those interested:

Ross McElroy - great geo with proven experience:

Recent presentation: This gives a good basic history of the beginnings with Strathmore Minerals up to the present.

After piling in so heavy to CUU and learning good lessons I am not attached to any stock anymore and have gone back to buying and selling more actively instead of holding for years (doesn't make sense for my own goals and timeframe). It helps that I am up a lot on this stock too and have taken profits and realized very good paper profits in a short time ... but if it starts to tank, I'm walking.

Cheers and good luck.

Still following the CUU story loosely but am of the opinion that it might go on well into 2014 without much subtantial change.
