Re: RIP TRAB - End of those dots

Are you talking to me? This board can have some comprehension issues so it is hard to tell. It says it is in response to my message although I did describe this news as "positive" (I did call it neutral-positive when I emailed IR about it an hour ago).

If you are, then like you, I have my reasons for owning the shares that I own. I also have a right to praise or question the company that I own shares of. If you are new and you are positive then I am envious of your position because a lot of us (and a lot of us longs) were chopped off at the legs in that recent amateurish placement. I am sure you can understand some of our concern and jaded messages.

Re: RIP TRAB - End of those dots

If by 'you guys' you include me in that as being an eternal optimist with respect to POET ... I have been called the exact opposite on this board.

I am wondering about Subhash's options. Are they all void? The resignation is interesting. Do you have any thoughts or explanations on it?

Re: Why so many options to Thomas Mika?

I am wondering what the justification was for bringing Mike on board in the first place. Obviously it is all speculation on our part but did we have a consensus? His LinkedIn is pretty stacked (and at least up to date).

But I am wondering if our CFO (Mika) had any say in the way our brutal placement took place. His bullet points as VP & CFO of Tegal Corp are, "...- Raised $60M+ in private/public financings;

- Successfully pursued complex trade secret litigation against Agilent Technologies, Inc. (later Avago Technologies, Ltd.) over 3 years; and

- Managed all aspects of corporate finance and reporting as a NASDAQ-listed public company."

You think he would have had a say in the placement (although not on his watch, you think they would have brought it up at least). If Crosby is on the bench you don't make the shoot out list before he's on the ice ... Bit strange.

Re: POET Technologies Streamlines Organization and Makes Key Appointments

I like the blurb about POET, "SAN JOSE, CA, January 16, 2017 - POET Technologies Inc. (the "Company" or "POET") (OTCQX: POETF; TSX Venture: PTK), a developer of opto-electronic fabrication processes for the semiconductor industry..." Sounds pretty all-encompassing.

So it looks like our theorizing about costs might be true on both fronts. They are putting lots of feet on the ground to get the technology rolling, but to counter that they are trimming off some of the fat (no offense to any of the trimmed parties but we needed a trimming). I don't expect any movement in the SP from this but it seems positive.

Are we able to form a theme between the announcements?

I have messaged Rajan Rajgopal and reminded him that his LinkedIn profile needs updating, he seems fairly active as we've talked before.

"Rajgopal is a seasoned semiconductor executive with senior previous roles at top multi-national leaders such as Micron, GLOBALFOUNDRIES and Texas Instruments."

"Sankaran led sales activity in the South Asia Pacific region for Cree, a leading global innovator of LED lighting, where he successfully identified and penetrated multiple new countries and implemented sustainable long-term growth strategies. Previously, he held numerous sales as well as product and field engineering roles at Avago, Agilent and Hewlett Packard."

"Dr. Zheng holds 20 years of experience in opto-electronics research, engineering and sales, including new product introductions, production planning, inventory management as well as supply-chain management."

"Thong brings more than two decades of experience in semiconductor fab operations, including plant operations, new-product initiatives, technology development, supply chain management, logistics as well as strategic sourcing. He has specific experience in end-to-end manufacturing - starting from new product introductions to pilot-runs, and ultimately full-scale production and contract manufacturing."

I sense a bit of a theme going there ...

RIP TRAB - End of those dots

Looks like that case is closed.

"Finally, as part of the announced realignment, POET is formally dissolving the Company's Technology Roadmap Advisory Board (TRAB), which was originally established specifically to monitor its critical "lab to fab" transition program.  POET management believes this oversight committee is no longer necessary following the addition of critical technologically-centered staff through both the DenseLight and BB Photonics acquisitions, as well as with recently hired new executives. The members of the TRAB will remain available to offer support and informal guidance to POET's internal management committees."
