I wasn't aware you were communicating in metrics . Sorry, I understood your words and context as judging peoples actions. I am not conversant in the language of metrics so please forgive.

Regarding metrics . I think events external and internal to a company as well as its' fundamentals are a reliable method for forcasting. ( an educated guess)

I know there are a lot of folks who enjoy metrics:plotting and graphing. To me it's like handiapping is to gambling.

I don't think a value judgement such as weak investors vs strong is adult behavior. Following your lead I'll contribute : astute vs. wishful.

Timing : chose your entrance and your exit rather than have events narrow your choices and or be your demise.

The premise is based on having a basket of risky assests: some will fail while you may get a wild success that makes up for the total. I think that Carl Ichan works this way and he is wildly successful. I have been holding Xerox forever and I hope this is one of the winners in his basket. Al
