Re: Disgust with the leaders

Hi Scout

When I first read pics post, I interpreted the message as a knowledgeable, articulate, and competent representitive, debating against, and seemingly overwhelming an inept and apparently unprepared opponent. I did not detect any racial innuendo or suggestion whatsoever.

I might not be as sensitive or politically correct as others, but I would suggest that before this thing escalates, that everyone do themselves a favor, and watch a Russell Peters comedy routine and regain some perspective.

Right now the only two colors that concern me are gold and silver!!

Re: NR: Golden Chalice Resources Management Change.......Intrigu...

This is certainly an unexpected turn of events. Firstly, I have heard numerous times, that GCR was Richard Hughes flagship company. Why would he just relinquish his command? Was this decision determined to be necessary to actually save the Company.? If thiis is the case, then I commend him on his decision to step down. Obviously, something had to change, if only on the surface!

There is also something else that is intriguing in the comment that the Company has relocated out of the HEG headquarters , to another downtown address. Could this be a method of implying that there are other reasons to facilitate a seperation? I doubt very much that there is a rift between the previous board and the new directors, simply because John De Jong and Steven Pierce are both involved with some of the other HEG of Companies. What I also want to know, is why they failed to mention this fact in the News release!! I am almost certain that Mr. De Jong has very limited mining experience, and therefore he would still be easily instructed or controlled by Mr.Hughes as advice was offered.

Suffice it for me to suggest that something much bigger is going on behind the curtain with this announcement. I am extremely curious as to what it is, and I welcome it gratefully. Bottom line is the Bottom line, and I don;t care what they do to improve upon it If this seperation better defines GCR, without the involvement or confusion of the other HEG companies, than it would be much easier for any new partner coming aboard. All in My Very honest Opinion!!

Thank you Jnycat

Thank you for agreeing to restricting run on sentences, and using paragraphs. You always have much to say, and it would be a terrible waste, to be bypassed because of your old style and format.

Re: Hockey mania protocal

Hi Baba, Hobbers, and others.

The reason that Neidermeyer was chosen as Captain, is because of his leadership in the Dressing Room, and his experience of winning every possible championship. Junior Memorial Cup, Junior worlds, World Championships, Stanley Cup, and Olympics. There is a certain leadership intangible that is brought to the team with this kind of success. I agree there was some other deadwood such as Pronger, No show Joe Thornton, Marty Brodeur cost us a point against the Swiss. Luongo has taken over in goal, and the young guys Crosby, Toews, Perry, Seabrook, Doughty, and a few others, are now the future . Interesting comment about J.P. Parise, as his father represented Canada in the past against the Russians. These teams were so evenly matched that it could have gone either way, a real memorable event, that will be talked about for decades.

Remember also, that the U.S. still Won Silver! Nothing to be ashamed about!

Closing Ceremonies were phenomenal, A fitting ending to an exciting and unbelievable two weeks. I need to get some sleep, and I have got to stop drinking so much beer!

Right hand or left hand....? there is no correct way, its both. I shoot left in Hockey, right in golf and baseball. (just like Hobbers) I know many who do the same, it just comes down to whatever feels right.

Re: OT - Congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team

Bigpic....... A few more lessons.

Every "hit" or contact that is made, is an attempt to check or take the puck off of the opposing player. There are interference penalties called if this is done without the presence of the puck. The line changes are well choreographed "on the fly" without play stoppage, otherwise it can also result in a" too many men" penalty. It also keeps the game moving, as it is supposed too.

Lastly, the game is fast, intense, and hard hitting, so fights do occur. The reason that the gloves and helmuts are removed is because it is a historical protocol between opponents, and also, you cannot win a fight bitch slapping someone with your gloves against their visor. They allow fighting, so that the guys won;t start chopping at each other with their sticks. or skates. Most fights end up without too much damge to either player. Last I saw, they also fight in football, basketball, and Most other Major league sports, and those fans are no diifferent, and in fact are more violent themselves.

I will agree about the woman figure skaters though.............

Cheers

Re: OT - Congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team

Ahh, just returned from attending the womans gold medal game, and the party in the street that followed. The atmosphere in the building was electrifying and intense. Lots of Canadian penalties, and twice Canada had to endure being two women short, and successfully killing the five on threes. Until half way through the 3rd period, the game was a lot closer than it perhaps looked on t.v. For some reason the U.S. kept wanting to shoot high and into the glove of the Canadian Goalie. Even in the pregame warmup, they were all practicing shooting high. I would have thought the U.S. coaching staff would have figured it out, but not luckily they did not.

Bgpic, the offside rules are very simple.......The puck must procede over the defenders blueline...... before the attacking player or players cross the line......sometimes it does get confusing, as their back skate is the one that the linesman are watching, as the attacking player or players can be stradding the line.

Vancouver has been going crazy for ten days, and the hundreds of thousands of people are all having a great and exciting time, for the most part very well behaved. Bigpic, we would love to send you the bill!

Lots more Hockey to be played, and believe me......Most would love to have a Canada and U.S. rematch. I still have a remaining ticket to the Bronze medal game, and closing ceremonies. I would certainly love to attend the gold medal game, but right now the tickets are going for........$2000.00 minimum per seat, and up to $25000.00 per seat. I would have to have ECU and my other JPMs cooperating more favorably before I would consider paying those prices.

Maybe in four years, when the next olympics are held, or less.....................??
