Monk, this PET theory is plausible, because why would anyone want a stake in Poet based on technology that is not optimised. Sulasailor has been occasionally posting about this (and his comments are mostly ignored ) but everyone else seems to be discounting it.
I dont post here much, but in the THM Suresh mentioned the phrase "talking to customers" when talking about the business plan. This stuck in my mind and IMHO was a subtle clue about customers they have lined up. These few words from our management team give me a lot of confidence.

"Never did I think that while sat checking Agoracom here at my desk, at Plymouth University, would I hear that POET were acquiring a company that has a team based here at our own Electron Microscopy Centre – here at the very institution that has helped me earn the funds to so freely invest in this amazing company."
Hi H
This is one hell of a shock. H, you'l have to see what you can learn about Poets new company first hand.
The appears to be the start of a well conceived master plan and another piece to the puzzle. This management team keeps on surprising us.

I didnt ask, but it was very clearly explained. Thank you :-)

They only seem to be at the experimental stage though.
This is what I was also thinking.... other rumours caused the share price to rise on friday and monday, not the acquisition were hearing about today.
I think there is more news to come.
