Johny: This is just a question about why would they hide the completion of milestones from investors

I can think of only two reasons they would not announce the status of the milestones.

1. They have NOT been completed yet

or more likely

2. The revised milestones were at the request of a multi-billion dollar potential Customer/Investor/ Acquirer and that company insists on SILENCE until they have a completed deal with POET.

I look forward to other possible reasons.

Very good point FJ. I am hoping that Blevins has been seconded to POET by Apple as well. In my mind that would be preferable to POET employment.

A question for you:

Is it possible/likely that new employees including Ajit have in their employment agreement a clause that all options are fully vested immediately in the event of a merger or aquisition?

I still don't think that with the most recent hire that a buy-out should be dismissed.
