Uranium stock index bounced 10% yesterday, closed -20% for the week.

Bottom feeders on Thursday did great.

The index is still up over 60% since last summer and 150% since the 2008 lows.

Re: Excellent Table Of Junior Uranium Losses … And Opportunities

Hi George,

We've just added Fission Energy Corp (Canada) to our database:

http://miningalmanac.com/stock/Fission-Energy-Corp-FIS-6F5/

Not to be confused with Fission Energy Ltd (Australia)! They every have the same ticker (but on ASX):

Canadian Fission Energy is now a member of our uranium stock list (but not Australian Fission, since their uranium assets seem to be less important than their other metals).

Thanks for the tip!

Re: Article from bloomberg

Yeah, nuclear just makes too much economic sense to toss aside just like that. In China where they don't have to cater to the public's every paranoia they just forge ahead. In the US and Europe, forget it - politicos act as if solar and wind can replace fossil fuels, which is of course hogwash.

Re: Excellent Table Of Junior Uranium Losses … And Opportunities

Thanks George for this post and pointing me towards the uranium discussion.

I just wanted to point out to everyone that this table is automatically generated each day from the biggest movers in the mining space, not just uranium. It just happens to be dominated by those stocks this week.

We also have a pre-sorted spreadsheet of uranium stocks with all sorts of comparison metrics. Users can also modify the list using filters. http://miningalmanac.com/stock-lists/uranium-mining-companies

There's also a uranium index (down 23% for the week as of Tuesday's close): http://miningalmanac.com/uranium-index

Glad you like our site, and thanks again for the link!

Cheers,

Re: Excellent Table Of Junior Uranium Losses … And Opportunities

Hi, this is Mike from miningalmanac.com

It's great to see you using our site!

I want to emphasise that although it appears otherwise, the spreadsheet above is actually not just uranium stocks -- it is automatically generated each day from the biggest gainers, losers and stocks with the greatest volume increases. It just so happens that the losers table this week has been dominated by the poor uranium juniors.

If you want to drill further and see all the uranium stocks, just use our main filters page: http://miningalmanac.com/filters and select "uranium" using the "minerals" filter.

Or jump to our ready-made list of uranium companies: http://miningalmanac.com/stock-lists/uranium-mining-companies

You can also see a uranium stock index (down 23% this week): http://miningalmanac.com/uranium-index

All lists & indices are updated automatically each day using our filter settings, and you can play with them to customize any list (except the index).

Again, it's great to see that you like our site, and thanks for mentioning us to your readers.

Cheers,

-Mike

PS -- we too were at PDAC last week and met many of these same companies. It's a shame to see such a knee-jerk reaction, but then again it means the stocks are on sale :)
