Still Floating

Nobody has been here for a year.

Makes sense; this thing is a turd.

Nice thing about turds, some of them float indefinitely.

Sangold

Konor,

I can under stand your frustration with Sangold. I've liked it for a few years now, but I keep waiting for the price to stabilize. Of course I also keep saying that about every stock I own with the exception of Enbridge.

Were you one of the lucky bastards that bought Facebook at $45?

Friviludicrous!

Hello Maginonauts,

If Carson Block is passing around new words, why shouldn't I?! And don't even ask me if FRIVILUDICROUS is spelled correctly!

Just watched an interview with Mr. Block and the interviewers were trying hard to paint him as a villain. He was doing his best to portray himself as the Saviour to the Stockholder.

I watched as someone in the middle. The journalists were trying generate press while Carson was defending his right to make money. And lets be honest, Mr. Block is more interested in making money for himself than protecting your shareholder rights.

It was interesting to notice that Mr. Block may be a predator who preys on other predators. As others have said, if Sino Forest is innocent, then why have they been unable to disprove many of the allegations?

While I am sympathetic to the average Joes who lost money in this fiasco; it high-lites why I try to avoid investing in Chinese companies. Too hard to know where the truth lies.

Anyway, that's all I've got. Perhaps some discussion?

Be well everyone,

Re: Land

PS:

I used to own land.

Had a 20 hectare woodlot in Eastern Ontario with a little house and a woodstove. Nothing special, but it was home. Plus, I am a talented man with a chainsaw.

Now I rent an apartment in Edmonton and have a bleeding stock portfolio.

Woe is me.

Re: Land

Jayview,

Land maybe be boring, but it does not bleed like PetroBakken.

A freezer full of food still feeds the family.

A roof over their head still keeps the water off.

A cord of maple for the woodstove still keeps them warm.

I invested my land (house) money in 2007. Had I put it in the mattress, I would still have it. Had I put it into a savings account, I would still have it. But no, I put it into the stock market. Some was speculative. However, the majority was in blue chips and companies that make stuff we need. Bottom line - I have less!

Since I am young, some of these companies (SU, CVE, GWO) will still be around in 20 years. But then there are the PetroBakkens of the world. This company promised the world and then watched their share price drop - pretty much EVERY day. They produce close to 40000 BOE/D, Blau, blau, blau.............

Woe Is Me! Wish I had bought a condo instead.
