You are just figuring out that the deal closed after the record date, wow. Not hosed at all, the insiders with G shares wanted it as well. The required time allotments for the proxy made it impossible to be a holder of record for the March dividend. You do realize the deal closed in fewer than 2 months from when it was announced, and it was a stock deal. Why don't you look at other stock deals that were announced, Coeur announced buying Paramount Gold & Silver in the middle of December, that deal isn't going to close until the middle of April.
Please do some diligence before your emotions do the typing.
Really? Do you actually think they are holding up the release of the shares.
It is in the hands of the transfer agent, and then the reorg department of the house where you have your account. Once the transfer agent releases the shares to each brokerage house it is up to the house to determine who held probe and if they held it on the record date.
I agree with your assessment. The stock was around $2 in December. It would likely fall to that level or lower. I will be voting YES. I will hold Goldcorp and collect some cash flow. Maybe use some selling of call options to give me a some additonal capital.
Every takeover deal in every industry has investors who think there was money left on the table, and aren't happy with the deal. It is a very good deal because the stock was at $2.00 less than 3 months ago. It is a very good deal because it is the highest quality dividend paying gold producer, yes they are investment grade. It is a good deal because investors get to particiapte (a call option) on chromite and whatever additional properties Probe Metals may absorb.
I am only stating that the lower Goldcorp falls the more likely more will vote NO. I am indifferent with their stock here today. It does make for a soap opra for a few weeks, As the Probe Turns
The fat woman has not sung.
It will be interesting to see what transpires between now and March 11th.
Noront traded several dollars higher than Probe....ha now they are the little engine that can't
Fellow shareholders, go into this weekend wondering if we see a higher bid by some other gold company next week, just pray it isn't an all cash bid.
