Re: Third Quarter

FJ

It was a theoretical question i posed on 59. If thats the post your referring to!

Maybe you have me on ignore and didn't see it. Whats up with ignore anyway,

won't the ignoer still see the ignorees post if is replied to by another poster?

Lets say: If i were to puts these numbers to an accountant without any of the details of the company, solely the eps loss reduction and for the span of three months, what conclusion would he come to?

Re: Third Quarter

Thanks 59

I was calculating in the wrong direction .01 to .02. Duh

What do you base "the actual drop is ~17%" on?

You answered my question with a question though.

Lets say: If i were to puts these numbers to an accountant without any of the details of the company, solely the eps loss reduction and for the span of three months, what conclusion would he come to? Not a realistic scenario i know but want a feel for what people think.

Sincere answers appreciated!!

Third Quarter

I am not an accountant, below excerpt from last release. Does the net loss per share of a 100% reduction within a three month period look good, reasonable, poor?? I realize it's headed in the right direction but it's the time span i am questioning.

Jimbo i believe is an accountant,  if your reading, whats your thoughts?

Thanks

Third quarter 2016 sales were US$861,545, which comprises the first full quarter of revenue from its acquisition of DenseLight Semiconductor, compared to US$576,741 in the second quarter of 2016. Gross margin in the third quarter was 47.3%, compared to 28.9% in the prior quarter. Third quarter 2016 net loss was US$2.8 million, or ($0.01) per share, compared to US$3.4 million, or ($0.02) per share, in the second quarter 2016.

Re: VCSL

Especially like "Product innovation is important to sustain in a highly competitive environment, and companies have been involved in strong R&D work so as to gain a larger share in the VCSELs market,"

I concur with Aves99 theory of NDA's but while still going it alone.

China

Surprised the "winning an initial customer order in China for applications in the Passive Optical Network" hasn't been brought up. Believe China could become quite a sizeable market! No doubt there are numerous patent infringements that take place there but Poet now has proprietary patents in place. Could they be the new shareholders of Poet? Could India be the next customer for some Poet Puppies?

IMO the Silicon Valley office purchase was premature and probably because of

the product they know they can offer but was not yet available. Don't want to use past tense (knew they could offer)

Google: "how fierce is competition in silicon valley" . Some i know are dated

but i don't think that changes anything, it is ongoing and the technical sectors in these articles are irrelevant.

Out of sight out of mind comes to thought. First gain

traction/leverage/suction, whatever you want to call it.
