Re: Talks continue on Ring of Fire development

Thanks Ringer.

The interesting part... This could be a game changer!  GLTA

"Noront will also advance its gold targeting initiatives with a full-scale compilation and review program to test its belief that the Ring of Fire may possess many of the right ingredients to host a significant gold deposit. This has been overlooked in past exploration efforts due in part to the success of base-metal exploration campaigns, the company said. Past drilling near the Eagle’s Nest deposit has intersected several narrow high-grade gold-bearing structures including up to 18.3 grams of gold per tonne of rock over 1.5 metres."

Tidbit from Stockwatch's cynical side...GLTA!

"Frank Smeenk's thinly traded Debut Diamonds Inc. (DDI) closed unchanged at 1.5 cents on 851,000 shares. The company, one of Howe Street's diamond zombies, has been inactive for the past few years, but it still hopes to explore its MacFadyen project, near the Victor mine in Northern Ontario."

From Stockwatch's cynical side...

"Richard Williams's Waseco Resources Inc. (WRI: $0.075) has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to "take on an added role" at the Attawapiskat diamond property in Ontario, which it shares with Frank Smeenk's Debut Diamonds Inc. (DDI: $0.01). The word "shares" unduly puffs up the importance of Waseco's 5-per-cent interest, but the company has been the only partner touting the play for the past few years as Mr. Smeenk's company appears closer to its demise than its debut.

At first glance, the prospect has favourable geography and geology, sitting just east of De Beers Canada's Victor mine and several other diamondiferous pipes discovered years ago by De Beers, as well as a few intriguing kimberlites worked by Mr. Smeenk's company through the 1990s and early 2000s. Unfortunately, the address also has its downside. The Attawapiskat and Marten River first nations have frequently been thorns in the side of De Beers and several other junior explorers seeking to work in the area. (The lack of an agreement with the Indians effectively killed a planned $50-million deal to bulk sample the U2 kimberlite, 60 kilometres west of Waseco's property.) Nevertheless, Mr. Williams, a Toronto lawyer and an eternal optimist, says that "discussions of a preliminary nature" have taken place with "certain other mining companies" and representatives of the locals."

From Stockwatch's cynical side... The Frank's Fault!

"Frank Smeenk's KWG Resources Inc. (KWG), unchanged at two cents on 131,000 shares, has settled matters with Bold Ventures Inc. (BOL: $0.035) and completed its earn-in on the Black Horse chromite project at Koper Lake in Northern Ontario. To do so, KWG issued five million shares and a $267,858 debenture to Bold. (The debenture pays annual interest at 5 per cent until it matures in early 2019.)

At last report, Black Horse held 85.9 million tonnes of 34.5 per cent chromium oxide. Mr. Smeenk suggests Black Horse was once part of the Big Daddy deposit and that it broke off with geologic shifts along what KWG calls Frank's Fault, a deformation zone responsible for the up-plunge termination of Black Horse. Many shareholders, even those unfamiliar with geology, have been known to discuss Frank's Fault, although to them, the term represents their effort to affix blame for the relentless down-plunge in KWG's stock from its 2010 high of 15 cents."

2016-10-04 21:17 ET - Market Summary

by Will Purcell

...

Frank Smeenk and Bruce Hodgman's KWG Resources Inc. (KWG), unchanged at two cents on 1.67 million shares has a few more days to complete its earn-in on the Koper Lake chromite project in Northern Ontario. Richard Nemis's Bold Ventures Inc. (BOL: $0.05) has agreed to give KWG until midnight Friday to complete the earn-in. It was to have expired at the end of September, by which time KWG had to spend $1.9-million to earn 80 per cent of Bold's interest in the project. It is not clear how close KWG is to achieving the target. In its most recent quarterly report, the company said that exploration activities at Koper "have not progressed in the last year" because of negative market sentiment.

Re: 10 years in now

"...is this would take another 10 years?"

Well...

A certain Mr Goncalves did yell a hundred years would be needed before slamming the door...

Another one, a provincial Minister of the North, is making his point for years that idling is the key to success, "we have to do it right" he says!!! (question: was a development corporation with no development a better doing than a road study with no road?)

So, for my part, I think the right thing to do is following crazydick's advice!!! (I would however be happy to wake up @ 10$)
