There is really no reason to say that people blame anyone here. I think it is more like blaming oneself for being so naïve and trusting in other people’s opinion and believing that others know more about it and would not be in this investment if it would not be a good one. It is an admittance to having made a stupid mistake and most likely results in being angry at oneself for taking the risk, that did not seem to be such a risk at the time. No matter how much number crunching one does or doesn’t and considers it to be doing due diligence, it isn’t, because all of it is based on assumptions and not facts. If it would be facts, there would be no need to drill. The positive thinking was based on guesses, even if they were highly educated once at that, but most of it all was taking a chance with the money invested in this guess work.
Of course, the whole project was promoted under the big asterisk “it may have risks”, but then there is the lure of the big payoff just like roulette or any other gambling arrangement.
Realizing this, does not mean one blames others, and if one is angry about the outcome does not mean one blames others, but one can be disappointed and angry at oneself and one’s own actions and realize the fact that it is a result of being too gullible.
I and possibly most of us probably saw the writing on the wall, 3 or 6 months ago, possibly at the AGM already, but I still thought that maybe I’m wrong and see ghosts where there were none, believing and hoping the feeling would go away and the stock would move up after good results.
I’m glad I did not recommend this stock to others, it would make me feel terrible now. I also know that I can never make up my and my family’s losses at my age, but at the same time there is no point in selling what we have now, as it would not make much difference at the end. It’s like having one chip left at a casino, one might as well live it on the table, maybe something still comes of it by sheer accident.
I don’t think this is bashing, as some like to call posts that are not all dripping with positive honey, but it is my opinion, like it or not.
