Interesting article re oil manipulation case

I just read this on Yahoo and thought that this may be similar in stock trading, possible SLI too. The article explains the process well. I just wonder about the numbers of shares traded in our stock. Would this type of manipulation be used. Sculp, you appear to be very knowledgable about this stuff, what's your thought on this?
