Why do you insist that it was "done" prior to the ruling? Shouldn't it have been announce much sooner than today if that is the case? You seem to indicate that so much is done way in advance that I have to wonder just when the deal was really finalized with signatures etc.
Additonally, as to canceling the deal, I know a bit about real estate and the deals that fall through after all the papers are signed. If someone doesn't want a house/home they will eat the cost of pulling out of the deal. Was there some sort of deposit put up when they verbally agreed to move forward?
Something doesn't add up here with the timeline, IMO.
And if this deal took so long and all, then by your reasoning that might imply that there are other deals in the works that are so far along in the process that they too will be signed no matter the judge's ruling. I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that as to what consitutes a moment when the doors shut on a deal being done. That is why I like the word finalized, like money received and in the bank. The signatures are important, but when was the money put in our hands and into the bank? Or has that not been done yet? If so then more opportunity to pull out of the deal, IMO.
