It seems more and more likely that the BoD believes the best way to protect themselves and their true masters is to simply let the Company die quietly in the bankruptcy proceedings. Just another year or so after this coming July and patent expiration will take care of the rest. Sure, there would still be six years left to collect diminishing damages --- but only if the effort is started in the first place.
In a perverse way, of course, we really must applaud these folks. They enriched their masters royally and themselves to a lesser extent, and did it off our backs and in our faces --- never caring one iota about the destruction of shareholder value they were causing, much less caring about the shareholders on any kind of human level. I suppose the BoD feels great about being able to handle and spend other people's money without any real restrictions, which is sad because it means they have no conscience or ethics whatsoever.
It may well be a distinction without a difference as a practical matter, but, as between the BoD and Leckrone, it is arguable whose character is really more dishonest and despicable.
