I have confirmed that the federal government shutdown did not result in any delay for appeals or similar actions in the federal courts. There was "slush fund" money available for the courts during that time, and the shutdown ended before those funds were exhausted. Some quasi-criminal cases (those brought by the government itself) were suspended or curtailed, but regular civil cases in the federal courts were not affected.

The above was confirmed by the federal magistrate here in my area, with whom I spoke late yesterday afternoon. As I had also mentioned, WILN was actually involved in a trial in the EDoT during part of this time.

Based on the foregoing, motion/appeal deadlines in our NDCA cases were not suspended, and will expire during the first part of next week. BaNos and others kindly watching PACER for us should be on the lookout.
