Last post on this topic.... If someone goes to Vegas with a $1.000, plays it and ends up with $2,000, puts $1,000 aside and then only plays forward on the actual "winnings" it's a free play even if you lose it all. Similarly, if you buy $1,000 worth of a stock and you then sell, say, half of it for $1,000 then what's left cost you pretty much nothing. Sure you risk losing the rest, but there's also a possible jackpot and you got your ticket for free (less some taxes maybe, but you hopefully get the concept). ------------- That's all folks.
