"a slate of new board members is just a ploy to fragment the effort" - Ploy? For my part I am much to unconnected to participate in "a ploy".

"to fragment the effort" - We will and should do what we can to fragment the board. IMO discussion will follow re concerning any strategic error in having multiple candidates which may "split" the vote. I can think of no one who has commented on, or volunteered to be a candidate who would not benefit from success in their efforts. No ploy here.
